Caregiver, bereaved parent and cancer patient Sharon Delaney McCloud brings a unique perspective that motivates people to remember their “why.” With lessons from the trenches and beyond, Sharon shares how to be a catalyst to transform lives as healers and leaders during this presentation.

- 8 - 8:15 a.m.Creating Perpetual Motivation
Joshua Trock, DPT, CLT-LANA, will lead a series of four 15-minute lectures throughout the conference, designed to help us better understand the core reasons as to why patients will see success or not. Everything we attempt with our patients is designed to promote independence and self-management. It’s frustrating when patients don’t see the success we have envisioned for them, which may happen because we failed to make the connection between what we want patients to do and why they would want to do it. Creating reasonable and actionable items that perpetuate success and momentum empowers patients to create meaningful change by putting them in control.
- 8:15 - 9 a.m.
Managing Edema & Intervention in the Acute Care Setting
Linda Hodgkins, MS, OTR/L, CLT-LANA, realizes the tremendous unmet need to manage edema in the acute care setting. By applying CLT knowledge in the acute care setting, you can extend your scope of influence. - 9 - 9:30 a.m.

Evidenced-based HNCRL treatments involve drainage, either manually or via advanced pneumatic compression, which can help prevent fibrosis—a precipitating and exacerbating factor for swallowing dysfunction. - 10 - 10:30 a.m.
Disparity in Breast Cancer Treatment Outcomes and Lymphedema

Realizing the actual pressure generated through the use of SSB can be a truly eye-opening experience for any CLT.
